A Swift Farewell Hollow Threats EP Release Show
Burdekin Hotel (Darlinghurst, NSW)
Saturday, 23 August 2025 6:00 pm
A Swift Farewell are an emo pop-punk outfit from Eora/Sydney, known for their explosive live energy and emotionally charged songwriting. Blending the nostalgic angst of early 2000s emo with modern production and genre-defying influences, the band have quickly carved out a space in Australia’s alternative scene. With a sound that sits somewhere between the intensity of metalcore and the vulnerability of pop-punk, A Swift Farewell are unafraid to tackle heavy themes head-on, all while delivering the kind of anthemic hooks that stick with you long after the last chorus.
Their debut EP ‘Hollow Threats’ is a six-track emotional onslaught produced by Nat Sherwood (Stand Atlantic, Yours Truly, Besties) and mastered by Grant Berry (Redhook, Static Dress). Each track tells its own story of struggle — from depression and self-worth to betrayal and coming out — culminating in a body of work that’s as cathartic as it is confronting. Featuring guest appearances from Amariah (Future Static) and Besties, the EP flows from synth-laced intros to metalcore-infused breakdowns, closing with the heart-wrenching ballad ‘Homeless,’ — a stripped-back, piano-led finale that lays everything bare. ‘Hollow Threats’ doesn’t just showcase A Swift Farewell’s musical range — it marks them as a powerful new voice in alternative music.
They’ll be joined by a stacked lineup: Melbourne’s Pretty Bleak who deliver a new wave dream rock with a melancholic blend of emo, pop, and shoegaze. Second Idol delivers moody, goth-tinged alt-rock, and Forever At Midnight kick things off with high-energy post-hardcore meets pop-punk.
